Today master Shi Yan Long (释延龙, 瑞士弟子) from Switzerland held for his students a seminar with the ancient weapon "Shaolin Sword & Shield" (少林盾牌刀).

The shield is a defensive weapon used to cover the body and resist attacks from enemy weapons such as arrows, spears and swords in ancient times.  The shaolin shield is made by sturdy bamboo and painted with a tiger face to frighten opponents. Usually it is used in combination with a Kan Dao sword to exert great offensive capabilities.

The students were grateful to get an insight into this ancient weapon system. We wish the whole global shaolin family a happy chinese new year in the year of the rabbit.  A lot of health, happiness and gratitude.  Amituofo.
