To celebrate the Chinese New Year, the UK Shaolin Xiu Culture Centre hosted Chinese New Year celebrations from 10 am on January 22, 2023 local time. There were more than 400 people attending the event to celebrate New Year’ s coming together.

At the beginning of the event, Birmingham Temple’ s venerable Dr. Kassapa, Venerable R. Nandaloka, and master Jingtong, master Guangde and master Zhiguang, guided people to chant sutra and bless to welcome the wonderful new year 2023, and pray for world peace, people’ s happiness and good weather for the crops.

Then students from the UK Shaolin Xiu Culture Centre showed lion dance. And then the students performed wonderful Shaolin Kungfu including traditional Shaolin fist, pictographic boxing, hard qigong, Shaolin unique skill, Shaolin weapons and so on. This won cheers of warm applause from audience on the scene.

The centre also hosted lottery and interaction activities at 4pm and every one present got a nice gift. People expressed the center spread Shaolin culture to communities and locals to make people share equality, harmony, health and integration of Shaolin culture, benefit their body and mind and feel joyful.
