May 8 or the 8th day of the fourth lunar month in 2022 marks Buddha’ s birthday. According to the local epidemic prevention and control policies, the Austrian Shaolin Cultural Center hosted the solemn assembly to remark Buddha’ s birthday. Master Yanliang, head of the center, burned incense and presided over the assembly, and chanted sutra for blessing and devoutly bathed Buddha to pray for the end of the outbreak, world peace and security of the country and people together with local overseas Chinese and students of the center.

During the time, master Yanliang told prevent attendees the story about Buddha’ s birth and merits of his lifetime, and also sent abbot Yongxin’ s greetings and wishes to everyone.

Under the guidance of master Yanliang, people ladled the soup with a spoon in turn to bath Buddha expressing removing the dust and dirt, purify the mind and body to regain indefinite merits and virtues.

This day was just the Mother’ s Day. In order to be grateful to mothers and convey filial and piety thought, the Austrian Shaolin Cultural Center presented gifts to all mothers attending the event--a piece of Chinese calligraphy Fu and a yellow rose, and had group photos with delight at the end of the event.
