The intrinsic quality of Buddhism is not to develop a belief, but to purify the human mind as well as their lives, and only by this way man can dissolve their selves and take the road of attaining enlightenment, so that the precious traits of compassion, generosity and willingness to give are developed in the course, and the fundamental spirit of benefiting oneself as well as others advocated by the Buddha shall eventually be attained.

Moreover, the Buddha briefly summarized his teachings in one sentence: “to steer clear of all the possibilities which are to lure him into an evil practice and to strive to do anything that is beneficial to others so that he can purge his psyche of all the spiritual impurities”. And the sentence shows the significance of purification in people’s min d and their lives. Based on the above, the Buddha further pointed out that Buddhist precepts are to practice morals, moreover, the sentence says a practitioner needs to “steer clear of all the possibilities which are to lure him into an evil practice and to strive to do anything that is beneficial to others”, that stands for the moral norms we need to observe on a physical level. Meanwhile, taking control of heart can be achieved through practicing Dhyana meditation; while purifying one’s mind is the wisdom what the practitioner acquired in Zen meditation, that is “purging one’s psyche of all spiritual impurities” in Buddhism, and that stands for the self-purification on a spiritual level.
