Early on the morning of January 30 in 2023 or the 9th day of the first lunar month Shaolin Temple held the New Year Sacrifice to Heaven assembly to bless good weather for the crops and prosperity and safety of the country and people in the new year.

Shaolin Temple’ s monastic manager, master Yankang burned incense and presided over the assembly at 5 o’ clock in the morning. The altar space was peaceful and solemn. 

The dharma assembly followed the dharma procedure including inviting Buddhas, Bodhisattva, 24 heavens, purifying altars with holy water, offering sacrifice and other rituals. People invited the Three Treasures and all heavens sacrificed with peaceful and devout heart. That morning Shaolin Temple’ s New Year prayer for blessings was also sacrificed and transferred purely and perfectly.
