After morning reciting, Shaolin monks followed the thousand-year family tradition of Shaolin Temple to leave the permanent residence compound for the Founder Nunnery to worship ancestors on the 2nd day of the first lunar month or January 23, 2023.

The ancestor-worship dharma assembly was solemn in the sound of Buddhist chants. Worshiping ancestors on the 2nd day of the first lunar month is a thousand-year tradition that Shaolin Temple always follows, which includes future generations’ deep feelings and respect of ancestors and holy ones.

In recent years, Shaolin Temple’ s abbot master Shi Yongxin vowed to carry forward Shaolin Temple’ s family tradition, guided Shaolin monks to take efforts to improve, and benefit sentient beings, which obtains consistent high praise from internal and external circles of Buddhism.
