On February 9, 2013 (the eve of Chinese Spring Festival), the masters form American Shaolin Cultural Center made dumplings with the devotees together to let them experience joyous atmosphere of Chinese traditional festival. Then the Center held lamp lighting praying rite.

On February 10 (lunar New Year's Day), in the early morning, the disciples came to give their New Year’s greetings to their masters. In accordance with the traditional ritual, they offered incense and sacrifice for ancestors and prayed for flourishing Buddhism, peaceful world, healthy body and mind, study improvement. After the rite, Master Yanxu, chief of American Shaolin Cultural Center hand out red packets to the disciples.
