A reception, to celebrate the 50 anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Austria, the 50 anniversary of the establishment of the Austria China Friendship Society, and the 50 anniversary of the publication of the Diplomat magazine, was grandly held in the Park Hyatt Vienna. The Austrian Shaolin Cultural Center was invited to attend the event meanwhile bringing a wonderful Kungfu performance for audience on the scene under the guidance of master Shi Yanliang. There were attendees in the event including embassador Li Xiaosi from the Chinese Embassy in Austria, Heinz Fischer, former Austrian president and chairman of the Austria China Friendship Society, former Austrian prime minister, former Austrian defense minister Werner Fasslabend, embassadors from embassies of more than 30 countries in Austria, executive vice chairman of the Austria China Friendship Society Mr. and Mrs. Kaminski, editors of Diplomat magazine, minister-counsellor and cultural counsellor of the Chinese Embassy in Austria, representatives of Chinese and overseas Chinese as well as China-invested enterprises totaling more than one hundred guests. Prime minister Kurz of Austria specially sent a video speech at the reception.
Embassador Li Xiaosi said in an interview that China’ s development makes great contribution to world peace and prosperity. China’ s future development will also bring new opportunities to Austria and other countries. It was hoped that both countries can jointly make efforts to elevate bilateral relations into new great development in the next 50 years with the 50th anniversary of the establishment of the diplomatic relations between China and Austria as a new historical point.
At the reception students from the Austrian Shaolin Cultural Center displayed Shaolin group boxing, Shaolin broadsword and other Shaolin boxing and weapon performance, winning cheers and appraise from audience on the scene. Austrian military band, Vienna Chinese love choir and other groups also performed wonderful programs featured Chinese and Austrian characteristics.
