August 22, 2021 local time is the Obon Festival of Buddhism and UK Shaolin Xiu Culture Centre hosted the blessing and rebirth or deliverance dharma assembly solemnly the same day. The assembly started at 11 o’ clock in the morning and ended at 5 in the afternoon. Master Jingtong, Monk Maha, master Guangshi, master Yuanzhou and master Runqi as well as head Yanxiu of the UK Shaolin Xiu Culture Centre presided over the dharma assembly together. Students of the centre and local believers totaling 200 people attended the event.

During the event, masters explained the Ullambana Sutra and Buddhist knowledge while guiding everyone to chant and pray that the COVID-19 epidemic would end soon and people around the world release from suffering and gain happiness. Then masters practiced Chan together and sit for contemplation of the mind.
