Master Zhizang is a famous disciple of Vene. Master Mazu Daoyi.

Once, a layman asked him, "Are there heaven and hell?"

He answered, "Yes."

The layman continued, "Are there Dharma and Sangha?"

He still answered, "Yes."

To the many following questions the layman asked, his answers were all "Yes".

Then the layman was disapproving. He said contemptuously, "It seems not right to say so."

"You have different views?"Master Zhizang asked with great interest.

"I have learned Chan from Master Jingshan anyhow!" The layman said contentedly.

Master Zhizang asked him, "What are his answers to your questions?"

He answered "No" to all the questions.

Master Zhizang asked the layman abruptly, "Do you have a wife?"

The layman said puzzled, "Yes."

"Does Master Jingshan have a wife?"

"No."

 At this point, Master Zhizang enlightened, "Mine 'Yes' is the same with Master Jingshan's 'No'."
