After the introduction of Indian Buddhism into China, it absorbed part of the cream of traditional Chinese culture. To be specific, it assimilated the cream of both Confucianism and Taoism to have itself transformed into a Sinicized version of Indian Buddhism. Wushu, as one of its constituents, was similarly Sinicized and aptly refurbished with choice elements of martial arts of other schools already existing in ancient China at that time.
