Yes, there is another system in Sanksrit. Buddhism falls into Southern and Northern traditations. The canon of the Southern tradition was recorded in Pali, and belongs to Hinayana Buddhism,

 while the texts of the Northern tradition were in Sanksrit, mostly being of the Mahayana Shools, with a few being Hinayana. Pali was a popular spoken language in ancient India, while Sanksrit a refined one.
