On Oct 19, 2024, the “Yu (Henan) Jian (Cambodia) Kungfu” performance was successfully held in front of the Gateway of Shaolin Temple. The performance was also one of the 13th Zhengzhou International Shaolin Kungfu Festival series. Joint performance of Shaolin Kungfu and Cambodia’ s Khmer Fist deepened people-to-people exchanges between China and Cambodia.

On Oct 16, master Shi Yanshu, head of the Cambodia Shaolin Cultural Center, and the Cambodia Lion- fighting Fist team totaling 13 arrived in China to participate in the 13th Zhengzhou International Shaolin Kungfu Festival, and then attended Shaolin Kungfu cultural exchanges on Oct 19.

During the time, the Grand Monk Shi Yongxin met minister Huha of the Cambodia’ s Ministry of Tourism and the Lion- fighting team at the Abbot Hall of Shaolin Temple. He highly appraised Shaolin Temple’ s achievements and contribution in cultural exchanges, and affirmed the settlement of the Cambodia Shaolin Cultural Center meanwhile inviting the Grand Monk Shi Yongxin leading his team to Cambodia for visit and exchange.

As an important unit sent by China Songshan Shaolin Temple, master Shi Yanshu said, “Cambodia Shaolin Cultural Center would continuously promote cooperation in cultural exchanges, physical education and other areas between China and Cambodia, making both countries’ friendship deep and practical.” (Edited by Zou Xiang and pictures from the Cambodia Shaolin Cultural Center)
