On August 23 in 2023, ambassadors from more than 20 countries in China of Africa, Europe, South Asia and leaders of international organizations visited Shaolin Temple, understood Shaolin Chan Wu Yi culture and felt the architectural beauty of Shaolin Temple under the company of department leaders of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Public Security and provincial, municipal foreign affairs offices and so on, which received a warm reception from Shaolin monks.

Abbot Shi Yongxin of Shaolin Temple welcomed the delegation of ambassadors in China at the Mountain Gate and guided guests to visit the Shaolin Temple permanent residence compound and introduce its history and cultural heritage at 11 o’ clock on the morning. Ambassadors appreciated arts of Shaolin Temple’ s constructions, tablets and steles, murals and so on with great interest, successively holding their mobiles up to take souvenir photos.

The delegation of ambassadors in China talked freely with abbot Yongxin and exchanged Chan Buddhism and Shaolin culture at the Abbot Hall. Delegates highly praised Shaolin Temple’ s long history and complete cultural heritage and also asked about lifestyle of Shaolin monks. The delegate from Nepal also communicated with abbot Yongxin about Bodhidharma, the founder of Buddhism, whose ties with Nepal, and also invited abbot Yongxin to Nepal for visit and exchange.

Abbot Yongxin said Shaolin Temple inherits the tradition of Buddhist culture and also created Chan culture in China meanwhile the unity of Chan and Wu are also loved by people around the world. In recent years, Shaolin Temple keeps friendship with many countries across the world and also hoped that everyone would visit Shaolin Temple again and deeply experience healthy lifestyle of Shaolin Temple if people have time.
