The 10th Vancouver Chinese Film Festival was completed successfully from August 8 to 13, 2022 local time.

Chair Christine Song of the organizing committee expressed the Vancouver Chinese film festival always adheres to “promoting Chinese film and spreading Chinese culture” purpose,conveys Chinese people’ s soul in the international arena with the help of the film, and makes world cinema begin a dialogue with Chinese film.

The 10th Vancouver Chinese Film Festival highly recommend young filmmakers, and its opening film is a documentary named Eyes on China jointly filmed by young directors from Yemen, Sultan, Jamaica, Turkmenistan, Nigeria, Madagascar, Russia, Pakistan, the Republic of Congo and the rest of the world. 

It is reported that there were a total of 88 Chinese films nominated for Maple Leaf Award in the Vancouver Chinese Film Festival this year. Thereinto, Architect and Paper Cavalry screened offline during the film festival received a warm welcome from audience in Vancouver. Yuan Hua from Hong Kong won the Lifetime Achievement Award at the closing ceremony of the film festival.

At the closing ceremony of the film festival, head Shi Yandi of the Shaolin Temple of Canada guided students from the Shaolin cultural center showing wonderful Shaolin Kungfu, which won cheers from audience on the scene. (Edited by Zou Xiang and pictures from the Shaolin Temple of Canada)
