“Sicily Champion League” Kungfu Competition sponsored by the Sicily Shaolin Cultural Center was hosted successfully in Catania, Italy on June 5, 2022. The competition was a Kungfu test which nearly one hundred excellent athletes from a number of cities attended.

Under care and guidance of master Shi Yongxin, abbot of China Songshan Shaolin Temple, supported by the Chinese and overseas Chinese friendship association in Sicily and local government and sports department, the competition was orderly conducted under planning and coordination of master Yanti, head of the Sicily Shaolin Cultural Center.

Competition events included Shaolin boxing, Tai Chi, Wing Chun, Sanda and others. Referees were harsh for athletes’ grades and judge.

After the competition, master Yanti issued medals and certificates to all winning athletes and presented books and souvenirs.

Cordially invited by parties of athletes and local sports departments, the “Sicily Champion League” Kungfu Competition will continue to be hosted in November this year. The Sicily Shaolin Cultural Center is able to offer a platform of further study and communication to Shaolin Kungfu lovers in local areas by campaigns and the like.
