Bhikkhu Kaizhao is explaining

"One-day Retreat” was conducted by Bhikkhu Kaizhao from Malaysia. During the retreat, Bhikkhu Kaizhao shared his feelings and experiences gained when he was upholding the spirit of Buddha-dharma in prisons. He encouraged people to be solicitous to the prisoners, and to practice the Buddha's teaching and share wisdom of Buddhism with them to help them gain inner peace. Bhikkhu Kaizhao, member of Santavana Forest Hermitage in Sabah, Malaysia, religious mentor of Nibbana Dhamma Rakkha(in Singapore), came into prisons of Penang to preach and have enlightening conversations with prisoners. His benevolence influenced many prisoners to convert to Buddhism during years of his stay in with them. Moreover, he is often invited to domestic universities to preside activities to direct the young people to learn Buddha-dharma ardently.

It is reported that a team of volunteers, which will be organized by American Shaolin Cultural Center, considering solicitude for prisoners in Buddhist way as one of the important tenets of spread of Shaolin culture in America, is going to further understanding and consensus on Shaolin culture among American masses by activities, such as propagating its doctrine in local universities, communities and paying particular attention to disadvantaged groups in order to lay a foundation of Shaolin culture in America.
