Incessant Transiency

(65) In the mundane world nothing is permanent. And Gautama Buddha teaches us that we need to view the world from the perspective of incessant transiency. In other words, we should become so prudent as to be at one with yatha-pratyata (acting in accordance with universality of dependent origination and being fashioned in compliance with causes and conditions). Otherwise we can only remain being victimized and toyed with by the afflicting mundane world. The secret of the bliss and mirth enjoyed by one who has attained Buddhahood is that, blithely and firmly adhering to the outlook that the universe is impermanent and empty in the last analysis, he knows how to comply with yatha-pratyata every minute of his life. And this is the entire gamut of his secret.

  一切万有都在变化,这就是佛教“空”之本义,“无”之真意。天在变,人在变,古人所谓“天人合一”,宇宙和人生合的正是万有变化之一理,别无它意。

(66) According to Buddhism, the term “emptiness” means “impermanency” or “nothingness”. The universe is in constant variation, and so is man. An old Chinese saying is that “man and nature behave in unison”. In what way is the unison manifested? From the perspective of Buddhism, manifestation of the unison is merely in the fact that both are experiencing changes all the time.(From My Heart My Buddha)
