Dabao’ en Temple in Songshan Mount is located at the foot of Taishi Hill in Songshan Mount in Dengfeng, built by Emperor Wu Zetian. Dabao’ en Temple faces the Zhongyue Temple on the east, Songyang Academy and Songyang Academy on the west, Taishi Hill on the north, and Qishan Hill and Ying River on the south, with the fine environment and supreme scenery. Emperors, generals and ministers, eminent monks, celebrated scholars, and literati of generations, offered sacrifice to heaven, worshiped Buddha, narrated in poetic form, wrote calligraphy, and built or renovated temples or halls so that many cultural relics were contained.
