On January 31, 2020, local time, the Confucius Institute of the Siena University in Italy and the Italy Shaolin Fist Union jointly held the special lectures themed with “The Physical and Mental Health Importance of Shaolin Culture”. Head of the Italy Shaolin Fist Union Master Shi Yanhui was the speaker meanwhile Professor Anna Di Toro, a Chinese literature from the Confucius Institute, together with Marco De Leo, vice chairman of the Italy Shaolin Fist Union, presided over the event jointly. About 100 people attended the event. Audience mainly come from Siena and nearby areas. An Italian scholar from Britain also made a special trip to the lectures.

Shi Yanhui has been successively invited to give special lectures on Shaolin culture in different cities in Italy at present but it’s the first time in Siena. Shi Yanhui introduced the physical and mental importance of Shaolin culture about Chan (meditation), Wu(martial arts) and Yi(medicine) in a slide show with fluent Italian and also presented to everyone the concept and experiences of which abbot Yongxin spreads Shaolin culture.

The lectures were widely praised by audience. Shi Yanhui prepares to give speial lectures in local areas on the late February. People actively registered on the scene and continued to attend lectures. (Edited by Zou Xiang and pictures from the Italy Shaolin Fist Union)
