Walking into the Mahaviro Hall, the group led by Master Shi Qingjue devoutly burned incense, paying homage to Buddhas.

At the Abbot Hall, Master Shi Qingjue and Abbot Yongxin enjoyed warm and friendly talks. Master Qingjue said the communication of Chinese Buddhism and Vietnamese Buddhism was very closed, coming from the same origin. Bodhidharma came to China founding the Chan sect in Shaolin Temple and having a far-reaching influence. Caodong School in Vietnam originated from China and the same origin. The friendship of both countries is everlasting and unchanged.

Abbot Shi Yongxin introduced Shaolin Temple’s history, current situation and cultural exchanges with foreign countries. Abbot Yongxin showed great appreciation for cultivation of Sangha elites in Vietnam. He said that Shaolin Temple also pays more attention to nurturing Sangha elites, subsidizes Shaolin monks to study around the world and has remarkable achievements. Abbot Yongxin hoped that Shaolin Temple could enhance relations and cooperation with the Buddhist circle in Vietnam to promote the development and spread of Buddhism worldwide.

After the talks with Abbot Yongxin, the delegation led by Master Qingjue went to the Pagoda Forest, saluting and worshiping Shaolin founders of all generations. (Edited by Wan Ning)
