The Germany Shaolin Cultural Center, set up in Berlin in 2001, is the first overseas Shaolin cultural center for China Songshan Shaolin Temple. There are 4 Shaolin masters here teaching Chan Buddhism, sitting in meditation, Shaolin Kungfu, Tai Chi, Qigong and self-defense, with 500 members. Up to now, there have been thousands of disciples learning here including children and aged people. The oldest is 85 years old while the youngest is just 4 years old. There come from not only Berlin but also other cities or countries.

Master Shi Yongchuan, head of the Germany Shaolin Cultural Center, is a monk from Shaolin Temple. He arrived in Berlin since 2002. He is a Chan dharma master and can speak Germany. His dream is building a permanent temple around Berlin to hold more students and help them attain physical and mental health through Shaolin culture.
