With reference to a traditional greeting or parting of the monastic, stand with the body slightly bowed and palms of hands pressed together in front of the chest. Traditionally, the hierarchy of the monastic communities follows the order concerning years of precept observation, regardless of age. However, there’s no fixed rule for the laity meeting the monastic, depending on their professions and cultural backgrounds.
