Ven. Abbot Yongxin Gives Instructions to the 4th Training Class for Patriotic Religious People in Henan Province

On the morning of November 30, 2012, at the invitation of Henan Administration for Religious Affairs, Ven. Abbot Shi Yongxin came to Cadre Training Center in Zhengzhou University and gave instructions to the 4th training class for patriotic religious people in Henan province. The fifty trainees who came from Buddhism, Taoism, Islamism, Catholicism and Christianism listened to Ven. Abbot’s instructions carefully.

In class, Ven. Abbot Yongxin started from the national policy and international situation, basing on the development situation of the five religions, introduced and explained the religious internal dialogues and exchanges, the dialogues and exchanges between different religions and the dialogues and exchanges between domestic religious group and foreign religious group. Ven. Abbot Yongxin regarded the dialogues and exchanges as the necessary way of summing up the developing experience of the religions, realizing the current development situation of the religions and promoting future work and development of the religions. He took Shaolin Temple for example and introduced the reality that the cultural exchanges with other countries had strongly promoted the dissemination and development of Shaolin culture. Ven. Abbot Yongxin considered that along with the enhancement of China's national strength and international status, Chinese religious circles should go overseas and develop dialogues and exchanges with other civilizations, let world civilization know and accept Chinese religions.
During the interactive communication with the trainees, Ven. Abbot Yongxin answered the trainees’ questions in patience. After class, Ven. Abbot Yongxin presented the trainees the book Happy Chan which was issued under his general editorship.
