Dharma Assembly to Pray for World Peace and Shaolin Kungfu Performance are Held at Vienna Grand Theatre

At 8:00 p.m. of September 11, 2012(local time in Vienna, Austria), Shaolin culture delegation consisting of more than forty people led by Ven. Abbot Yongxin arrived at Vienna Grand Theatre and started the activities of Dharma Assembly to pray for world peace and Shaolin Kungfu performance. Local Chinese Societies, Shaolin Kungfu amateurs and Buddhism believers gave them a warm welcome. Officials of UN, officials of Chinese Embassy to Austria, Shaolin Cultural Center Austria, Austria-China Cultural Exchange Association, local Chinese Societies, Buddhism believers and media attended the activity.

 

 

There were no empty seats

Though the activities not started, there were no empty seats at Vienna Grand Theatre which has 2000 seats inside. Shaolin culture amateurs and Shaolin disciples enjoyed a happy get-together here to share the good time.

 

 

Prayed for world peace

 

Dharma Assembly to pray for world peace officially started in a solemn and sacred atmosphere and Ven. Abbot Yongxin presided over the Assembly. More than thirty Shaolin monks stood in four rows, chanted sutra and worshipped the Buddha together to pray for world peace and human happiness and wished the country be prosperous, the people at peace and good weather for the crops.

Wonderful Shaolin Kungfu performance

 

The moment Dharma Assembly was over, Shaolin Kungfu performance began with the first show Shaolin Kids Kungfu. Shaolin Boxing, Six-conformity sparring, Group sparring, Imitation boxing, Shaolin staff, Shaolin broadsword and other wonderful Shaolin Kungfu successively made their appearance and shocked the audience. The applause rose one after another, last for a long time.

In the intermission of the performance, the audience went up onto the stage to ask Shaolin Kungfu monks for Kungfu practice advice and took group photos with them.

When the performance “Fight to the Mountain Gate” was over, all the audience cheered for the wonderful shaolin Kungfu and profound Shaolin culture. In the audience's applause, Ven. Abbot Yongxin rose and made his way to the stage to take group photos with the leaders, honored guests and Shaolin Kungfu monks.
