Invited by Heung Yee Kuk, Ven. Abbot Yongxin with a Shaolin delegation attended the grand ceremony marking the N.T. Heung Yee Kuk 85th anniversary on Wednesday evening, August 3, 2011. Shaolin warrior monks demonstrated spectacular Shaolin martial arts in the celebration program and were greeted with enthusiastic cheers and applause from the audience. The program was taped and broadcast by Hong Kong Television Broadcasts Limited (commonly known as TVB), on which the unique Shaolin culture was presented for the Hong Kong citizens.

The Heung Yee Kuk (lit. 'Rural Council') is a statutory advisory body representing the indigenous inhabitants of New Territories, Hong Kong. The Heung Yee Kuk was established by the Heung Yee Kuk Ordinance (Chapter 1097)and first enacted on 11 December 1959.
