Investigating intangible cultural heritage——Shaolin Kungfu

In Shaolin Temple’s library, the Abbot Yongxin introduced the delegation: so far, the modern people are keen on the technical performance of action routines of “Shaolin Kung”. China’s intangible cultural heritage Shaolin Kungfu faced with fragmentation. The security and uniqueness of culture are surging and the situation of cultural protection is grim. In 2005, Shaolin Kungfu applied for world intangible cultural heritage. For various reasons, it failed. But it also provides a lot of ideas for the protection of Shaolin Kungfu. Shaolin Temple’s library is the first national relic protection unit in the Buddhist circle. The collection has a large of ancient books and cultural relics. As early as 1995, Shaolin Temple had begun to excavate and organize intangible cultural heritage of Shaolin Temple, invited the experts and scholars to demonstrate the discussion, published many cultural books and help Shaolin Temple’s protection and inheritance.
