To advance and implement the ‘2024 Cambodia-China People-to-People Exchange Year’, Cambodia’ s Ministry of Tourism, Siem Reap Provincial Government and Henan Provincial People’ s Government cooperated holding a series of cultural exchange activities about the ‘Cultural Tourism Exhibition’ and ‘When Shaolin Kungfu Meets Kun Lbokator in Angkor Wat’.

On April 21, 2024, under the guidance of Shaolin Kungfu monks master Yanwu and master Yanxuan, a group of 11 arrived in Angkor Wat province, Cambodia, receiving a warm welcome from master Yanshu, head of the Cambodian Shaolin Cultural Center. The group of Shaolin Kungfu monks also visited the Angkor Wat and other places accompanied by master Yanshu.

The ‘Cultural Tourism Exhibition’ and ‘When Shaolin Kungfu Meets Kun Lbokator in Angkor Wat’ were held  at the north square of the Bayon temple in Siam Reap province on the morning of April 24. Cambodia’ s tourism minister Song Suken and his wife, Sun Shougang, deputy governor of the Standing Committee of Henan Provincial Committee, deputy governor Ling Layun of Siem Reap province and other leaders as well as more than 500 guests were present.

During the day’ s event, the “China’ s Shaolin Kungfu’ and ‘Cambodia’ s Kun Lbokator’ shared the stage which received thunderous applause from audiences at the scene.

On the morning of April 25, cultural counsellor Lin Ruihua of China’ s Embassy in Cambodia and secretary Zha Mingwei of the exchanges and cooperation department and others arrived in the Cambodian Shaolin Cultural Center to listen to the center’ s principal, master Yanshu’ s reports of the construction work for the Cambodian Shaolin Cultural Center. Counsellor Lin Ruihua highly recognized that Shaolin Temple establishes the Shaolin cultural center in Cambodia and hoped that the center could widely carry forward traditional Chinese culture and Shaolin culture to benefit more locals.
